Aiman's 20th Birthday Surprise: Full Cover$BlogItemTitle$>
After a good two weeks of planning Aiman's birthday surprise, we finally got down to do some work on Wednesday last week, where Izzy, Mali, and I, gathered ourselves at my place and waited for Izzah to finish work before we got into Izzah's car and forcefully made her go on the big roundabout to Gadong :P. We got all our supplies there and went back to Zim headquarters in Kiulap before we roughly planned what to put on each page. Earlier that day, Mali, Izzy and I had already brainstormed with some questions we thought would be interesting to put in as part of the scrapbook, one of which was "Where do you see Aiman in 30 years" and "If Aiman were a song, what would it be". After emailing everyone that night of what needs to be done, Rachel (who was actually busy with assignments) was first to answer all the questions and finished making a nice birthday message for her page in the scrapbook! Way to go Rach!
Next meeting, the following Saturday, we got Nadiyah, Hanif and Elmi to join us, and we started writing up the questions and our thoughts and completed more pages, until it was almost done. Before leaving, few of us decided to sungkai at Country Patch where the male species finished their meals in a matter of 5 minutes!
On the big day, Monday (yesterday), Lutfi joined us and wrote his thoughts to the questions as well, followed by Izzy's arrival with his camera which had low batteries, Izzah, who brought mini pavlovas she had picked up earlier in the morning and Mali and Elmi. :) Earlier that day, I had finished making Liana, Linie and Rabia's pages, finishing it off with final touches with everyone's help. After praying at my place, we left before 12.45pm; the boys in Izzy's car, the girls and Lutfi in Zim's car.
We dropped by at Rabia's place for a bit, because it was on the way, but unfortunately she couldn't join us yesterday, so we went along with the number of people we had and reached Aiman's house after 2pm. I then opened my car's windows playing the birthday song out loud but Mali quickly told me to switch it off first, because they wanted to decorate the front porch with a "Happy Birthday" sign. Afterwards, Mali called Aiman's phone but she didn't answer, and we tried calling her house phone but it was busy. But what was really weird was, we didn't try the door bell or knock on the front door to begin with -__- which was immediately answered! Lol.
Anyway, we played the song when we saw that someone was coming to the door, but it was her maid, so we got her to call Aiman, then she came (and fortunately dressed!) and we played the birthday song loudly from my car (we didn't let it finish because the song was a bit long) so we gave her mini pavlovas, scrapbook and a frame Mali had made with all our signatures.. She invited us in, then had a look in the scrapbook which she was really happy about (I hope) and was surprised how we got Liana, Rachel, Linie and Rabia to put their contributions in the book as well. Since Mali had told Aiman that he'd be hanging out with us the past week, she felt left out because she was all the way in KB, but little did she know that we were actually gathering to make her scrapbook. After settling and with Aiman slowly getting over the surprise, we played games that we had brought with us. The first game we played was Taboo (Singaporean version) and the girls won both rounds. Since we were lacking in numbers for girls, we got Aiman's sister, Tiah, to play with us. We then moved on to play Pictionary and in the middle of the game, Zainal joined us and without hestitation, (unfairly) joined the boys' team (so,) the boys won Pictionary :P. We had such a good time laughing, because the guys lacked artistic skills but they always got each others' drawings eventhough it didn't even look like a burger or a globe! The girls were more creative and took more time in drawing :P. After that I tried to teach them a card game called German Bridge (because ada orang iski berabis) but the girls were put off before I even finished explaining the rules of the game! So we played Charades instead, but that didn't last long because some of us weren't good with acting it out.. so we went back to Taboo and had another two rounds of that, but this the teams were mixed with boys and girls and obviously, the team with more players won.. We lost track of time and suddenly it has been 2 hours so we only left at 4.45pm.
Because we had surprised Aiman before puasa and that we were at her house for a really short amount of time then and didn't know what to do there.. :P, we calculated the time better yesterday and brought some games to play. Rabia had initially told us to drop by after going to Aiman's house if we had time and she actually made us some food! But because we were all rushing to go home, we didn't stop by.. Sorry Rabia!
There are photos, but there were so many cameramans that I didn't take any. So there should be some from Izzy, Mali and a bit from Lutfi.
Hope those of you who couldn't join us, don't feel so left out now that I've written a post about the surprise :)

Aiman and Mali wore matching clothes!
