2009 Re-cap$BlogItemTitle$>
Hi girls,
I'll just post some photos to show a bit of recap of what I was up to in 2008/2009 :)

December 2008; Germany (Hamburg, Berlin & Munich) and Paris

December 2008; Barcelona
March 2009; Great Warwick Jump

April 2009; Nice

December 2009; Andalucia
As of now, I just start the second week of my second term which means I'm just two terms away from what could be one of the most important day of my life; graduation. I have to say I am glad to have gotten the offer to study at Warwick under a scholarship, as it has one of the most respective business schools accompanied by a wonderful student campus life. I cannot imagine graduating and never coming back here as I've met and made lots of friendships with people from countries I've never heard of, done things I never imagined doing and lastly, being independent and far away from home and actually, surviving.
Traveling around Europe has made me realise that Brunei is very very small, that there are actually older and bigger countries out there with extensive histories and that I was standing on grounds that was once run by the most powerful rulers in history. I have only traveled to some parts of Germany, some parts of Spain and some parts of France, when if you think about it, I could travel the whole of Brunei in just one day!
The most memorable tour yet was in Berlin. Learning about the Berlin Wall and how Germany was like during Hitler's reign, was very bizarre and creepy. I was standing on top of the bunker where he committed suicide and was told about how Hitler's dog, Blondi, died and that her death affected everyone more than his partner's suicide did. And then walking through what was probably one of the most creepiest memorial, Holocaust Memorial, I just don't know how to begin to describe what the place was like. And furthermore in Munich, we went to Dachau Memorial camp, which was the Nazi's first concentration camp and I learned more about how people suffered, how they were dramatically executed.. What a way to start one of the many Euro trips I had after, ey?
Being at home back in the summer between June and September was different yet wonderful. There were days where I was probably the most laziest person in Brunei, but there were days where I felt that I wanted do this and that but just never got around to doing it. But in all, it was nice to be able to meet up with Mali, Izzah, Hadee, Izzy.. who almost always layan-ed my weekly "bah, lakastah liat movie ani ani ani..." Lol. Raya was also so much fun too!
Then I went back to UK. Every time I go to class, there's always a thought at the back of my mind :"Final year, final year, final year" which is really telling me, no more fooling around, this is it, it's my last chance to give it my best. There are some days when the lecture materials are do-able, but there are also days when I find it so hard I want to cry and wished I was back at JIS, doing A Level Accounting in Mr Bennett's class. But that only made me ponder, wah, I've gone so far from that and I'm going to be a graduate soon! InsyaAllah.
So moral of the story: Most of us all in final years, yes, we've had our chance to fool around, miss classes and seminars/tutorials, do assignments at the last minute and cram before the day of exams in our first and second year. But really, it's up to you, you set your own targets, it's you who knows if you're the kind of person who does best with cramming, or with weekly revisions, it is you who will get a first or second class, it will be you who's going to continue masters or go for job interviews. So, before you go to class, do assignments and revise, think. That you're doing all that, for yourself and yourself only. And maybe, that could push you to work harder and study better ;)

It's me!$BlogItemTitle$>
Hey!!! :D
It's officially been 8 months and 2 weeks since my last post!! That must have been my longest hiatus E-V-E-R.
I know all of you readers are DYING to know what I've been up to the last eight months, but if I tell you the exact details.. well, I might as well write a book! I should warn you that this will be a long post but I definitely try to keep it short :P
First thing's first, I finally finished all my exams today! I'm so knackered and exhausted from all the preparation, the procrastination, missing meals and I just need a really good rest tonight. However though, straight after my last paper, I went back home and did spring cleaning for the house! And I even started packing my things away today..
Okay, A LOT. I mean, A. LOT. has changed and happened since. Obviously, my hair is getting longer, I got older and I'm not getting any richer.. :P Why? Because I went to a lot of awesome places this year. In December, I spent my holidays in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Paris AND Barcelona! I went to three countries within 4 weeks! :D That was so tiring but it was definitely a lot of fun. In April, I went to Nice, Cannes and Monaco! And I had such a relaxing holiday..
Well, since my 2nd year is coming to an end soon, all I can say is, I have had such an awesome year this year. Unlike last year, my parents always came over for my Dad's meetings, my whole family came to UK twice, KaDhil was in London AND I went back home in December. This year, I have not been home for about 9 months now, my family never came over AND my sister is no longer in the UK. So.. I was all alone here.. :(
But nevertheless, my year in Warwick has been wonderful and that's partly because I have Lutfi. We did a lot of awesome things together, we went skydiving! Yes, falling 15,000ft in the air! And I had a video of it! That was such a thrilling experience and I would love to do that again. And recently, Lutfi's friends and I went to a obstacle course called Go Ape, which is quite popular around UK. And there, we did all these awesome, well, you guys might say nerve-wrecking things such as something you guys might label as "flying-fox". And 5 of them! There was also this awesome Tarzan jump and well you guessed it, you are expected to jump off the tree like Tarzan!! Except you have those safety things attached to your hips.. but it was so scary! I didn't know what to feel because I always thought I was brave but when I jumped I suddenly felt that I didn't attach the safety locks properly! Maybe I'll post the video on facebook :)
I would post some pictures like I always do :P BUT since most of you are on the oh-so-popular facebook anyway, I assumed you have seen them, well if you haven't, go check them out! Oh and some of my holiday pictures are on my picasa..
Okay, that's it for now.. I'll share my experiences this year post by post, to make things more interesting.
Love, me!

Let's begin with..$BlogItemTitle$>
3 golden rules:
- state 15 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself.
- The people I tag are then to carry out these survey as well.
- No tagbacks
1. I made a birthday resolution at 16 to not eat beef for as long as I could and so far I've been able to avoid eating beef. When I do accidentally consume cow's meat, I don't spit it out but politely continue til I swallow, because it is still food, but that doesn't mean I enjoy the taste of it. I don't really anymore.2. I didn't have a boyfriend until I was almost 17. True fact. But I've had a few not so serious crushes beforehand, but that doesn't even come close to having a relationship!3. I think I get too friendly/comfortable with people I just met. :S This include both boys and girls.4. I pick on my face/lips. Especially when my skin gets dry or when I feel a pimple is popping up.5. I like eating cookie dough. Especially when it's the one I've made.6. I have a tummy even though I'm only about 50kg + + + :p.7. I will never ever be physically fit. Even when I was training for KK, where I tried jogging on the treadmill for at least 8 minutes straight everyday, for a month, I just couldn't do it. But yea, I managed KK somehow. Haha.8. The colour of my face and arms don't match.9. Even after a year of Uni, I still wished I had chosen Psychology as my course.10. I don't like ambuyat but I love durian.11. My natural hair is actually frizzy and wavy.12. My oldest best friend in the world is Nads and another girl named Afifah. Our friendship is about 17 years old now.13. I used to have really bad, black to brown milk teeth as a child and somehow I was never ashamed to show them off in pictures :S.14. I refuse to show off my shoulders but I don't mind showing off my legs with it comes to clothing i.e. you would never have seen me wear anything without sleeves.15. I am vulnerable, regardless of how tough as a girl I may look :p.At first I thought 15 was a bit too many but now I think 15 is little. Haha. Anyway. I was blog-hopping for hours and hours today and the blogs that I came across were interesting to read. I've always envied how some bloggers carefully choose their choice of words for a sentence which makes it sound better than the ordinary English. I blame my lack of interest in reading for my boring English sentences.I went out with few of my Warwick mates for drinks last night and it went on for a bit too long. I think it was because each and one of us had so many things to say as we haven't seen each other for a while now.As for now, I officially only have 2 weeks left here, so I'm carefully planning my remaining days of summer.. not really. I'm already stressing about second year of Uni. I don't want to go back.Sigh.Yea, no pictures for this post.Labels: catching up on life

Cycling$BlogItemTitle$>
It's good to feel like a little girl again and go cycling with your dad and siblings. Then suddenly you just snap back to your own little stressful world and realise you've got school tomorrow and that we are crossing the road with our bikes now. One of the many ways I am able to spend time with my oh so busy daddy in the evening though for only a short time.
One of the reasons to be happy about life is to also realise you've actually got people to celebrate it with. Being sad and alone and keeping all your problems to yourself does not make you feel better, but telling the whole world that you really hate pink that it makes you vomit or that you think your boyfriend is cheating on you because he has not contacted you for 3 hours, does not do just either.
I have been fortunate enough to yet celebrate life with who else but the people that I love.

Majlis Ramah Mesra. We got to talk and greet with the Sultan!

Then we met for lunch. This is a picture of Izzah and Hadi :)

On the SQ flight to Spore. I could not help but realise the size of the Coke is a whole lot bigger than the 7up.

The desserts that were delivered to the room which we only took photos of (because we were full from dinner)

My not so little sister, Aliiyah, in the pretty green satin dress I bought
Najmi and KaDhil. An advanced 23rd birthday celebration.

My mummy and me

Heh :)

KaDhil was given a bouquet of roses, chocolate cake and a purple iPod shuffle :) by the hotel management and staff. And her birthday gift from us (well.. not so) was a really cool Nikon SLR camera. I think. Haha.

On the plane

3hours after arriving- netball practice in Menglait.

The girls bitching about the other team :p. Look at Connie! Haha

BruWick team manager, Sze Nee Lim

And what would the netball team be without my lovely coach, Nadsies Bubbles :)
I will be seeing most of you on Sunday! We must meet before Rach goes back :(

me!$BlogItemTitle$>
Hello again.
Today is officially my last day in Coventry.
I moved in my new home (off campus) two nights ago and yes, so far so good.. but I will miss being on campus because I will miss..
1. The occasional fire alarm tests at 11am on Tuesdays. Annoying but yea.
2. Talking to my cleaners and having them knock on my door every Tuesdays and Thursdays to collect my trash.
3. How both the toilets and kitchen are only 3 seconds away.
4. Cooking my own weird stuff.
5. The occasional noisy grasscutter at 10am.
6. Squirrels! Duckies!
7. Walking only 5-8 minutes to the library and lectures. Walking for 2 minutes to Costcutters and 10 minutes to Tesco's. Basically, walking only for short distances!
8. Occasionally making a visit to the music hall to play the piano.
9. Being 2 minutes away from Sports Centre!! Netball! Gym! Badminton!
10. My lazy flatmates who leave dirty dishes for 2 days to a week.
11. Bringing all my toiletries back and forth when I shower.
12. Just being in my room most of the time when I am in my flat because there's no living room, tv, place to chill.
13. Seeing Connie, Hamzah and Cheryl (friends I became close with) from my window before going to lectures.
14. Visiting friends' places on campus. Oh, all the birthday surprises we had!
Anyway, since the last time I blogged, I spent Father's Day with my dad, moved my things in, bought 200chickens which we marinated on the same day and had Malaysians+Bruneians BBQ yesterday.
Today's event is Generation Games which is basically a sports collaboration of Malaysian Society, Brunei Society and Singapore Society, 1st years vs. 2nd years vs. 3rd years.
Ok, my flight is in less than 24 hours now! See you girls soon :P Weeeeeeeee~

My last post was two months ago!!$BlogItemTitle$>
Hannan just left for York yesterday and I feel so terribly lonely since he left until now. We spent only three weeks together, two weeks in York and a week in Coventry and I miss him already ='(. I hate this feeling. We did a lot.. but if I talk about it now I will only feel more sad. I'll tell you guys about it when I start uni saja ok?
I am in my 5th week of Easter Holidays and a lot has happened during the holidays but before that, I shall talk about things since after my last post.
A lot of good things has happened in the last two months. Ada minor earthquake and a bomb scare in Coventry.
I'll just tell you guys about some of the things that has happened. We had a netball tournament at Leceister where we got 4th out of 5 groups. I saw Rabia in Leceister! But we didn't speak to each other much as she was busy with the whole event while I was playing netball for BruWick. Tired and stuff, I then left for London for Brunei Night. Aku jumpa Nads.
A week later it was Easter Games held by the Bruneians at Nottingham. I saw Nads, Aiman, Mali, Elmi, Val, Hannan, Zeerah, Farah, Kaydee, Qils, Wani and a lot more other ex-JIS. BruWick got 4th out of 13 groups which I was so proud of! Since it's my seniors' last years, only most of the seniors played and kicked ass. The next day I had another netball tournament at Warwick against Nottingham where we got 3rd out of 3 groups! And were still given medals :p.
I got bored in Coventry doing nothing because me and Hannan weren't in good terms at that time so didn't go to York as soon as my holidays started. I then planned to hang out with Izzah and Nads in London, mostly because lama sudah inda liat si Izzah and aku chatting sama ia saja about the most random and juicy things and we need to gossip more face to face. Sekali my Mum texted me saying she'll be in London with Papa for 3 days from that coming Sunday and asked if I'd be free. I immediately replied "YES! SEE YOU SOON!" I was so happy to be seeing my parents since inda balik this 5-week Easter Holidays.
While in London we met up with Aiman, Mali, Val and Hannan. We all had fun but it was short pasal si Izzah masih ada uni the next week and I was meeting my parents that Sunday.
While reaching the hotel room, my parents asked me to go to my room and I was like "Ok, but my luggage is with you". But I just followed orders, I saw a camera on the bed, peanut butter M&Ms and a jacket on the chair, which I thought the cleaner had left. I thought I was going to be surprised with an object or something, camera kah Mp3 kah. I kept walking until the walk-in closet and screamed with joy when I saw Aliiyah and Najmi! With tears (literally) of happiness, I told them I had missed them and that I was so close to posting them "I Miss You" cards. I actually had eyeliner on (didn't think I'd cry that day) and I didn't blow-dry my hair so it looked awful. That was how unprepared I was (ok, that's nothing, but it's enough for me :p).
I felt sad that I was not going back for Easter, I was missing home and everyone every night until Easter Holidays so you can imagine how happy I was to see my whole family again. My siblings were on their Easter Holidays as well but since Papa and Mama were only in London for 3 days I thought durang inda kana bawa because it was too short. My parents were indeed good with the surprise I must admit.
When I had to leave them for Coventry on Wednesday I felt so sad but am so thankful they came and we had a lot of fun time together. I then left for York the same day and spent my time with Hannan until yesterday afternoon =(. One good thing after the next, now, nothing =( and back to books. I was in library from 12pm to 7pm surang2 belajar today. But didn't feel lonely macam di bilik.
My exams start on the 28th of May until June 9th. I am going back on the 17th of June from Heathrow!! That's in two months!! I am sooo looking forward to that. But before that exams which sucks balls because I have 8 papers and they are not easy. Anyway, I'll be in Brunei for almost 4 months until the 2nd/3rd day of Raya.
So update on the people we're all familiar with. Nads ada boyfriend dari Oxford namanya Hanif. They look good together. Si Izzah punya rambut panjang sudah and ada orang suka si Izzah namanya si B, ia dari Car (haha). Izzah mula2 suka si A (ia pun dari Car haha). Kawan si A ani si B. Since Izzah selalu cakap to si B pasal si A, si B telah jatuh cinta kepada Izzah hahaha. Bah Izzah kalau malu and mahu correct me, baiktah blog daleng. Si Aiman masih sama si Mali, durang the most loving couple I've ever seen. I am still with Hannan and I am happy (and rambutku pun panjang haha).
Seluarku sampit so I have to.. hmmm.. exercise or diet. Cemana ni ah? Hahah. I want neither.
Connie bestfriendku di Warwick is going to be back here soon. Two days!
I actually can go to (and want to) York ikut Hannan (until next week, nada class first week) tapi if I didn't let him go yesterday it'll be harder for me to let him go when it is time.. He has an exam on my birthday =( I'd go to York, but I know I will stay there lama2 sampai susah kan leave. Even after more than 2 1/2 years (iakah?) Hannan is still the best thing that's ever happened to me. Siuk jadi girlfriendnya haha.
Sorry post panjang ngalih membaca.
Bah Linie, indaku recognise kau lagi, pikirku Amoi mana lagi ni sasat memblog arah blog kami. Haha, you look so cute in the photo!
Liana, manakah engkau pergi?
Rabia, Rabia!!!!!
Yang lain yang terasa atu (yang in UK ah.. ada tiga bini2, nama durang start with I, N and A) baiktah blog. Meriahkan tah lagi blog ani.
Ok then. I feel much better after blogging. Jangan sedih girls, I miss all of you too, ok! (it's true!) We should hang out macam gila in summer soon! Yaaaaaaay!
Now to photos!! (that I have, the rest on facebook kalau rajin kan meliat :p)

Far too long..$BlogItemTitle$>
Don't you think?Today I was planning my apparently-free weekend. I was planning to blog on Saturday. Then I thought:Why don't I just blog today and on Saturday?? That way you guys will be enterntained! As tradition, this post will be long. I am going to tell you what I have been up to since my last real post which ,wasn't so cheery.First of all, Happy Chinese New Year!16th Jan: First Brunei Warwick Society Welcome Social. I was the emcee for the night wearing cheongsam and I must say the committee gave a good impression in the end (with the silat performances and attempt to offer "Nasi Katok" to everyone). We even managed to make Azemah come :D.

18th Jan: London! With parents and sister. As some might've known, my Dad was here in January to meet with the Shell scholars at Manchester and afterwards he stayed for a week due to BIA work. They were kind enough to drop by at Coventry after just arriving, to drop my things including the customes for the BruWick society.24th-25th Jan: We surprised Connie with an early birthday celebration on the eve of her birthday after Dikir Barat practice.
1st Feb: it snowed! And I didn't miss a thing. I was just on the study table with laptop and window opened and whoosh! It got heavier then lighten up. It only lasted for an hour probably.
2nd Feb: Warwick Malaysian Night where I took part in the last performance called Dikir Barat. Since the 8th of January, I have been having Dikir Barat practice from 8.30pm-10.30pm every weeknights up until the Malaysian Night. Kalau mau melihat video, it's here and here. I personally think we sang at a flat tone compared to previous Mnights. Kalau rajin, also check Dikir Barat or Warwick Malaysian Night from previous years.

Hannan came for Mnight and we had a good time, even if he had to finish his essay for that Monday. On Sunday we went to Bicester Village, as Izzah, Nads, Aiman and Rabia might know, that's a designer outlet and we bought things for the family more than for ourselves and I felt really good about that.

For this term, I am trying to make it a habit to go to the library at least three times every week to do seminar work in order to have fun over the weekends. And so far, this plan has successfully worked and I have never felt any more productive in my life. My attendance to lectures and seminars for this term is 100% so far (eventhough my lectures don't take attendance, as some of you might know, and I still go even when I know it will be a useless lecture).
I have been having group meetings for our presentation this Tuesday night called "Upper Level Pitch" where we have to sell our ideas to the investors. It is one of five of my modules this term. Dikir Barat practices, library sessions and group meetings have been making me busy and tired lah for the last few weeks. But now, I am free!
I have been going to the "Fitness Zone" for 45mins to 90mins since this Tuesday and I want to make it a habit to go often since the Sports Centre is just a 2 minutes walk. I want to keep fit so that my metabolism rate is well balance which would definitely benefit me in terms of being able to go through the day without feeling sleepy or tired at all.
Miss Connie is in Dubai! With her family, for CNY, from Tuesday to Saturday. Heh heh.
Before I forget, six of my friends in Warwick are hitch-hiking to Morrocco this Easter and they need your kind donations! So please visit Dream A Dream and Keeping Hopes Alive. Tell all your friends!
Coming events: BNight? Hmmm.. Oh and BruLeicester on the same day.

Izzah, blog missy! You know I'd say that :p and the rest of you, please blog! Keep this blog alive! :D Labels: catching up on life, pics
